Vicki is one of my friends that I work with at Creative Times Magazine who also homeschools. She and I have discovered that we have a lot in common besides homeschooling. You'll enjoy reading her homeschool blog www.homeschoolblogger.com/hca as you listen to the uplifting music selection.

Testing is Over!!!!
Yay, it's over! We're taking a week off to recouperate from this. Then we'll work on our monsters - fractions in math and writing practice - for the rest of the year.
I looked at more possible homeschool curriculum and other schooling options while I waited for the tests to be over today. I'll research my findings and report on any of those that look helpful to those of us who are trying to avoid the public school scene.

Update on Our Assessment Testing
Well, our son has finished day two of his four day testing. He sounds really confident in how well he thinks he has done so far. The teacher who is testing him is really sweet. She comes to the office and escorts him to her room and escorts him back to me when they're finished just over 2 hours later. I'll be back to report in a few more days.

Let the Testing Begin
We received our phone call yesterday afternoon. We are to report to the local elementary school Monday morning for the first of four days of state standardized testing. We've reviewed and studied for two weeks straight and we'll continue that course over the weekend. Anyway, by the end of next week it will all be over and the final days of our school year will be more relaxed. Whew!
Good luck to the rest of you who will be going through testing as well.
